Amidst Heavy Sales, Decline in Yes Bank and Suzlon Energy Shares; Tata Investment Tops the Turnover Chart

During the trading session on Monday, Yes Bank Limited and Suzlon Energy Limited witnessed a significant decline in their stock prices. With a drop of 3.13%, Yes Bank shares reached Rs 20.15 after 20,56,50,253 shares, valued at INR 420 crores, were traded. Despite being included in the BSE100 index for private lenders, Yes Bank experienced a decrease in its share value.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), amidst high volumes, several stocks, including Yes Bank Limited, Ratan India Power Limited, Vodafone Idea Limited, Jaiprakash Power Limited (JP Power), Reliance Power Limited, Suzlon Energy Limited, and Energy Global Limited, saw a decline, resulting in a weakened overall market performance. Interestingly, Orient Green Power Company Limited and Alok Industries showed some positive movement.

Vodafone Idea shares fell by 2.41%, reaching Rs 14.20, despite maintaining a top position in the NSE volume chart. The trading volume on the counter amounted to INR 400.75 crores, involving a total of 27,50,55,363 Vodafone Idea shares. Ratan India Power traded 22,08,47,033 shares valued at INR 229 crores, experiencing a 4.69% decline to reach Rs 10.15.

In the case of Yes Bank, 20,56,50,253 shares, valued at INR 420 crores, were traded. The stock witnessed a 3.13% decrease, reaching Rs 20.15. Despite being included in the BSE100 index for private lenders, Yes Bank experienced a decline in its share value. These changes will be effective from Monday, December 18. Additionally, the bank approved the appointment of Tushar Patankar as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for a term of three years starting from December 1, 2023.

JP Power shares traded at Rs 14.10, witnessing a 2.76% decline, with 128 crores worth of business conducted on the counter involving 9,01,33,061 shares. Suzlon Energy experienced a 3.43% decline, reaching Rs 40.85. A total of 8,29,37,562 shares, valued at INR 345 crores, were traded. Reliance Power witnessed a 2.19% decline, reaching Rs 22.35, with changes in 8,27,44,084 shares valued at INR 187 crores.

Among the top gainers in terms of volume, Orient Green Power Company Limited and Alok Industries showed an increase of up to 4.7%. Other stocks such as Energy, IRB Infra, IRFC, Zomato, Dish TV, Nayara, and HCCL experienced higher volumes.

In the turnover chart, Tata Investment Limited leads, with Tata Group’s investment company conducting business worth INR 1,624 crores. Following closely is Bajaj Finance, which traded at INR 898 crores. HDFC Bank witnessed a turnover of INR 861 crores in the initial hours of trading. Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Nayara, Divis Lab, State Bank of India Limited (SBI), Coal India, and MOIL also observed high turnover in the market’s first few hours.
